Do you enjoy music? Are you itching for some family fun on the cheap? Looking for a place to purchase fresh veggies?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, Rock the Farm is for you.

Each Wednesday night from July 1 until Aug. 26, there's free concerts at Anderson Farm Museum in Lively.

“It's a very eclectic mix of country and blues and rock,” said organizer Gwen Doyle.

On concert nights, farmer's market vendors are set up on the site starting at 4 p.m.

Doyle said they're up to 20 vendors this year.

The start of this year's Rock the Farm series happens to coincide with Canada Day, so organizers have planned a celebration.

The event begins at 4 p.m., and includes children's activities, farmer's market vendors, a Canada Day ceremony, free cupcakes and two concerts — Benham at 5 p.m. and The Bluez Brotherz and the Notorious Funkmonsters Band from 6-8 p.m.

“We're hoping that people will still come to Rock the Farm, have fun with the kids, have a summer supper, and stay for the concert,” Doyle said.

“If they want to do fireworks, they can get in their car, and go and watch at Science North.”
