No charges in fatal Hanmer crash

A preliminary investigation into this collision is ongoing however, at this time there are no charges expected. 

A Traffic Management Unit collision investigator has been assigned to follow up with witnesses, collect collision data and conclude the investigation once all witnesses have been spoken with.

The Traffic Management Unit has just cleared the scene of the Motor Vehicle Collision and the roadway has been re-opened for traffic.  


The preliminary investigation revealed that an Eastbound automobile being driven by a 17 year old male crossed the centerline of the roadway and struck a Westbound minivan.

Sudbury Fire Services attended the scene with E.M.S. however, the driver of the automobile succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.

The driver and an occupant of the minivan were transported from the scene by ambulance treated at Health Sciences North and released.

More information will be available Monday through the Officer in Charge of the Traffic Management Unit.

Police are on the scene of a serious motor vehicle collision on Radar Road between Dupuis Street and Jackpine Crescent in Hanmer.  


The roadway will be closed down for the next few hours while the Traffic Management Unit conducts it’s investigation.

An update will be provided when the roadway re-opens. Police request the motoring public avoid the area.
