The Canadian Cancer Society is launching their Mudmoiselle events this summer with six events across Ontario.

These mud run fundraisers feature a five kilometre obstacle course winding through the hills and terrain at six venues in the province.

Money raised through Mudmoiselle will fund Canada's most promising cancer research and vital support services for cancer patients and their families.

“Two in five Canadians will develop cancer in their lifetime. While survival rates have increased over the years, more work needs to be done,” said Tonya Stewart, Director of Special Events at the Canadian Cancer Society in Ontario in a press release.

“Mudmoiselle gives women the opportunity to get dirty and fight this terrible disease.”

The ground-breaking challenge is open to women of all fitness levels, whether they run marathons or run after their kids.

“Through Mudmoiselle, women can test their endurance and strength all while supporting Canadians with cancer,” said Stewart.

“This will be a rewarding experience for girlfriends, mothers and daughters to team up and get dirty for a good cause.”

The first Mudmoiselle event took place in the Peterborough area on July 11, and Sudbury is next up on the calendar, set for August 22.

The Sudbury Mudmoiselle event will take place at Adanac Ski Hill. The registration fee is $50 per participant. Visit Mudmoiselle.ca today to get all the dirty details on these events.
