Every LCBO location in Greater Sudbury will host the “Giving Back in Our Community” campaign July 23 to Aug. 9 in support of United Way Sudbury and Nipissing Districts.

Customers will be invited by LCBO retail staff to donate $2, $5 or $10 to their local United Way at checkout counters. All proceeds will stay in the Sudbury and Nipissing Districts and fund social service programs.

“LCBO is pleased to support United Way Sudbury and Nipissing Districts and across the province,” says Rick Redwood, LCBO Northern Region director.

“Through the continued generosity of LCBO customers and staff, we help improve the lives of Ontarians and build healthier and stronger communities across Ontario.”

In 2014, LCBO customers and employees in the Sudbury and Nipissing Districts raised more than $170,000 that helped support 63 social service programs within both districts.

This total represents a 25 per cent increase from the 2013 LCBO campaign.

“LCBO is a long-time supporter of United Way and continues to play a significant role in our overall campaign success,” said Kelly Sinclair, campaign manager.

“We are very grateful to LCBO employees for their commitment to the campaign and to LCBO patrons for their support of local community efforts.”
