Sudbury cadet grabs third place in fitness challenge

Local cadet Elliot Prudhomme received third place honours with the Basic Fitness and Sports Course at the Blackdown Cadet Training Centre, located at Canadian Forces Base Borden.

During the course, Elliot, who's with the 2912 Irish, spent three weeks participating in exciting and unique training opportunities such as physical fitness, zip lining, rope bridge and drill.

This course is designed for cadets who are developing skills in leadership, self-confidence, and self-discipline alongside making new friends.

Blackdown is Canada’s largest training centre in Canada, where more than 3,300 cadets will train this summer alone.

The cadet summer training program offers young people between the ages of 12 and 18 years of age the opportunity to take up challenges and acquire new experiences while at the same time encouraging team spirit, mutual assistance, friendship, and physical fitness in a safe and fulfilling environment.
