The Sudbury Airport, along with 23 other airports across Canada, kick off Canadian Airports Safety Week, a new airport-led initiative to promote healthy and safe work practices among airport employees.

The first program of its kind for the Canadian aviation industry, Canadian Airports Safety Week aims to reach thousands of airport employees across the country with various safety talks, themed messaging and events, which were developed in collaboration with participating airports.

The Greater Sudbury Airport will be undertaking a FOD (foreign object and debris) walk and delivering daily safety messages within the airport community.

Canadian Airports Safety Week is an airport-led initiative to promote healthy and safe work practices among airport employees. Currently in its first year, there are 24 airports across Canada participating in the initiative.

Greater Sudbury Airport is one of Northern Ontario's busiest and is currently served by Air Canada, Bearskin Airlines, Porter Airlines and Sunwing Airlines.

Air Canada offers daily flights to and from Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which provide worldwide connections, while Porter Airlines offers daily service to and from downtown’s Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, which connects passengers to various Canadian and U.S. destinations.

Regular scheduled flights provided by Bearskin Airlines offer air service to and from many Northeastern Ontario centres. Sunwing Airlines offers flights from Greater Sudbury to various sun destinations from December to March.
