SMS Rents has launched a program to help families in need get winter ready across Ontario and Quebec.

Company president Marcel Langlois invites the public to donate any unneeded winter coats and snow-wear for distribution to local families in need.

“Each of our stores has partnered with a local service organization to collect winter coats and donate them to the agency,” said Langlois in a news release.

Operating under the banner of “Let’s Make Winter A Little Warmer,” the store’s campaign is part of a community impact challenge program coordinated by SMS Rents’ head office. All SMS Rents stores and head office will compete to contribute the most to its local community.

“Each of our stores has deep roots in its own city or town,” said Yamen Aldajani, SMS Rents marketing manager. “We’re very pleased to have the opportunity to be contributing members of our community while serving the needs of the businesses and people we know.”

Each store will collect coats, parkas, snow suits, ski jackets and other cold-weather wear, in good condition, in any size for men, women and children.

Donations can be dropped off in a special collection bin inside each store location until Oct. 12. Customers can also give their donated items to any SMS Rents service and delivery staff who visit their jobsite.
