For the third year, the Northern Centre for Advanced Technology's (NORCAT) will start its Entrepreneurship 101 program in the fall, which aims to help people who want to start their own businesses.

The free course will feature 29 one-hour lectures – by experienced entrepreneurs – every Wednesday evening from Sept. 30 to May 11, 2016.

NORCAT will present the lectures at its main office, located at 1545 Maley Drive, but it will also make the talks available through a webcast.

Lecture topics include how to identify a target market for a business, how to recruit and manage talent, and how to access many of the financing options available to new businesses.

Participants who attend or watch at least 20 lectures will qualify for a NORCAT Entrepreneurship Education Certificate.

Entrepreneurship 101 participants will also be able to take part in the Up-Start! Competition, in which individuals or teams make a 10-minute presentation on a business idea to a group of judges. The person or team with the best pitch wins a $5,000 prize to help them launch or grow their business.

To learn more about Entrepreneurship 101, or to sign up for the program, visit NORCAT's website, or email Hailey Short at [email protected].
