The Weather Network issued a lightning alert for the Greater Sudbury area earlier today.
The alert, which has since been removed, said lightning was detected in this zone early this morning, with the first strike at around 7 a.m., and the most recent strike at 8:17 a.m. There was a total of 18 strikes.
Environment Canada is forecasting a risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon.
