Sudbury Downs workers will vote today on a tentative agreement reached Friday between their union, Unifor, and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
The Downs workers, along with those from Woodbine Racetrack and Casino Brantford, have been locked out since Sept. 19. The labour dispute largely centred on a new pension plan under OLG's modernization plan.
OLG spokesperson Tony Bitonti told the Toronto Star he's optimistic about the agreement, although neither side can reveal the terms of the agreement until ratification.
Bob Orr, assistant to the secretary-treasurer of Unifor, said in a statement released Sunday the union is “optimistic we have reached a good deal.”
