Mine Mill Local 598 ratifies agreement with OLG

The Sudbury Mine Mill & Smelter Workers Union, Local 598/Unifor have ratified their collective agreement with OLG Slots Sudbury, Woodbine and Brantford.

“We have gained an increase in wages, a signing bonus as well as numerous language changes,” said a release from Mine Mill Local 598.

“Pensions will be from day one with the new operator/management and negotiations will take place within six months following any takeover between the new operator/manager and the union.”

The release goes on to say, “The union and its members sent a clear message to the Government, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and to any new operator our ability and willingness to fight. Overwhelming ratification by members is a clear sign that our members supported their bargaining committees.”
