Martindale and Southview open again

The Greater Sudbury Police Service has advised the public that Martindale Road at Southview Drive is closed to all vehicles due to a motor vehicle collision.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:10 pm. when a vehicle struck a natural gas pole.

The public is not in danger and precautions have been taken.

Drivers must access alternate routes until further notice. Police are asking the public to use Bouchard Street to Kelly Lake Road as an alternate route.

GSPS will issue a follow-up release to provide further details and to advise when the roadway will be open to traffic.

Martindale Road will be closed at Southview Drive due to a ruptured gas line.

There is no danger to the public and Greater Sudbury Fire Services have secured the area and have evacuated four houses in the area as a precaution.

Traffic will be re-routed through side streets.
