Environment Canada has upgraded the freezing rain advisory to a freezing rain warning.

Freezing rain is expected or occurring in the area. Freezing rain has developed in Sudbury and will affect the regions for a couple of hours before switching over to plain rain and drizzle later this evening.

Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution. Untreated surfaces will become icy and slippery, resulting in hazardous winter travelling conditions. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.

Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Freezing Rain Warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces. Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.

Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to [email protected] or tweet reports to #ONStorm.
