Sudbury youth groups receives $25Kfrom Home Depot

The Home Depot Canada Foundation recently joined forces with The Street Youth Planning Collaborative – Youth Leaders Committee (SYPC YLC) to present four youth-serving organizations with Orange Door Awards.

“As one of the winners, Sudbury Action Centre for Youth is receiving $25,000 to improve the supportive services they provide to their youth clients,” Home Depot said in a news release. “This will ensure they can continue to help youth-in-need to realize brighter futures in their community.”

In a news release, the company said The Orange Door Project is Home Depot’s response to one of the most urgent social issues facing Canadians today: youth homelessness.

“On any given night, more than 6,000 young people are without a place to call home, and that has to change,” the release said.

“We’re working with committed partners, suppliers, associates and our generous customers to help. By bringing supportive housing and life skills development programs to vulnerable youth, we can help change lives and build brighter futures.”
