About 60 customers on Forestdale, Cassandra, Ivydale and Gardenvale in New Sudbury remain without power as Greater Sudbury Hydro crews work to repair underground equipment.

The company has said it may still be another two hours before power is restored.

Frozen cables underground have complicated repairs on switchgear that failed, cutting service to nearly 1,500 homes this morning shortly before 11 a.m. March 31.
Crews were able to "sectionalize" and isolate the fault, with the majority of customers brought back online in less than an hour. Steamers have been used to thaw the underground lines and connections.
