Bears are waking from winter nap

It's time to start bear-proofing, according to the Greater Sudbury Police.

The warm and early spring has started to wake bears from their winter hibernation, and they will be looking for food.

Bird feeders should be taken down and birdseed cleaned up, and barbeques should be cleaned as well.

Garbage should be put out the day of collection, and kept in a secured location.

Check the upcoming issues of Northern Life for more about bears in the spring.
