Acting on tips received in February, police began an investigation into a 57-year-old Greater Sudbury man who allegedly owned sexually graphic pictures and videos of young children.

A search warrant was executed, and police seized a computer that Greater Sudbury Police state contained the images and videos in question.

According to a press release issued by the police, the man was arrested March 8 without incident, but during the arrest police found several unsecured firearms.

One was a loaded assault rifle. None of the weapons were registered, nor did the accused have a licence to possess them.

He is scheduled to appear in bail court March 9, and will answer to a count each of possession of child pornography, possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of prohibited ammunition, unsafe storage of firearms and ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, four counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and five counts of unsafe storage of a firearm.

  • When you move to an apartment building or a apartment any-ware you do not know what your landlord is up to. In Sudbury he could be this creep. It happens. Some of these creeps take job's so they have access to women and kid's. What a better way to get them. They can enter your home slip some-thing in your drink or food and exit and no-one thinks any-thing of it as he is the caretaker of the building. When police get a complaint of a landlord entering apartments with-out the consent of the tenant and harassing the tenant after and because he got caught by the tenant. THE POLICE really need to do some serious investigation's into the landlord's behavior no matter who he is. HE could be their friend,as a sexual predator looks no different than you or me. The Police might really get a big surprise at the extent of what he may be doing. NO MATTER WHO HE IS THEY SHOULD NOT TURN A BLIND EYE. SEXUAL ABUSE IS ABUSE NO MATTER WHO IS DOING IT. FRIEND OR FOE.

  • If i was 17 years old. my girl friend was also 17 years old..and we were fooling around and took pics...is it illegal and considered child porn if i still posses those pictures 7 years later?

    just curious.

  • "with porn available 24/7 its generating 1000s of new converts daily all classes all ages and across all income levels. society choice more freedom and rights."

    Sigh...

There were sick people before internet porn. There are still sick people. The difference is that today, people fixate on pedophiles - it's in the news every day because people fear them and nothing sells papers/ad space like fear.

The fact that you would give up a free society in order to protect people against a minuscule threat is absolutely mind-boggling.

  • I feel the public has a right to know who the perverts are.
Will it make their lives a little tougher? Possibly, but so what? It's time to stop protecting the criminals.

  • with porn available 24/7 its generating 1000s of new converts daily all classes all ages and across all income levels. society choice more freedom and rights. blame the people and policticians. its mainstream now it will never be cut back we live in an x rated society which wiil want more as time goes on

  • Another one? Omgd whats going on this city is full of em. I agree don't protect the scum.

  • Who is this sick f***ker??? We the people of Sudbury should be told about freaks like him & not hide his identity.
