A 16-year-old girl is facing charges after threatening to kill a loss prevention officer after her boyfriend was arrested for shoplifting.

The threat was issued as the girl was being escorted out of Dumas Independent Grocers after the arrest.

Her 22-year-old boyfriend was spotted by security hiding three steaks under his shirt, then leaving the store without paying for the items, according to a press release from the Greater Sudbury Police. They were valued at $16.

When the man was questioned by police, he gave a false name. When his actual identity was confirmed, it was found he was already on probation and breaching bail terms.

His girlfriend refused to leave the store after his arrest and snatched a bottle of cleaner as she was being escorted out, yelling "I'm stealing," before threatening security. She was also arrested.

The man is facing charges of theft under $5,000, breach of probation, and breach of recognizance. The girlfriend is facing charges of theft under $5,000, uttering death threats and failing to leave the premises under the trespass to property act.

  • Yes I admit, I was Boosting for profit, and I took the consequences and I served my time. I can & do not blame Alcohol nor Drugs for what I was doing back then. No! I have not even thought of doing this Stupidity again and it has been over 8 years that I have stopped. And Yes "wondrinwhy" there are people who will steal from Anybody, you are right on that point. I have been truthful in every word I said. But I most certainly was not Bragging as you stated on your post. I was Addicted to Boosting and I got a Rush when doing so, FYI: I gave away much of the Meats than I ever sold, because I knew many unfortunate people who were down and out and could not fend for themselves, and they were even afraid of going to Food Banks in case people found out. Also "wondrinwhy" when I said that there is many of the Staff who were putting Goods out the back doors at certain times to be picked up by some Booster, You would be Amazed at how true this really is. Even during these Modern days, it still happens. They most definitly get a good cut $$$$ out of helping Boosters. As I already said people, I did the Crime, but I also did the Time. I have no regrets, and I do not owe you any further explanation "wondrinwhy" No disrespect intended People.

  • It's time they threw the book at clowns like this pair. We all have to pay for the losses that stores incur thru theft. And, No...There is not insurance for this.
Honest hard working folks don’t deserve to be threatened while at their place of employment. Serious jail time is called for here

  • Obviously Edgar you weren't "boosting" for necessity reasons (hunger) you were "boosting for profit" and of course ur gonna go for the highest priced items because typically all ur gonna get is 1/3 of the price anyways. I'm sure you still get the "urge" but common sense kicks in

  • Edgar, do you really believe theives don't steal from people who are worse off than they are? There is no romantic honor amongst theives. The way you posted makes me certain you are truthful in bragging about stealing...

  • FYI: ~"Nothing is Against The Law, Until You Get Caught"~ The Rule of the 'Common Booster' is "Never Ever" Take from The Working "Man/Woman". Stores & Busineses are 'Insured' for Most of thier Loses & Usually Claim More Than Twice the $$ Amount $$ of what was Stolen. The Public would be Surprised @ What The Store Employees & Even 'Management' take out the Back Doors & put in an area to be picked up and brought Home for Themselves. Let The "Truth" be Known: (I am Speaking from 'Experience') If anyone refuses to believe this, Check it out for yourselves. No Excuses for Myself. I Did The Crime, & Did My Time.

  • "FYI" !! As a former booster myself 15 years ago, If a steak had less than a 15 dollar tag, it stayed on the shelf. I was advised by a Law Officer years ago, if you're going to take something without Paying, stick to Food items & grab the most Expensive. This way, first off, If you're Caught, the Penalty is the same ($2.00 or $200.00) Furthermore,if you must face off against a Judge, chances are that he will be leniant on you, if your Lawyer says that you have a family, on Social Assistance with no Extra $$$$ to spare. ;O)~

  • yep pretty lame

  • NICE.

This wins "F**kin Classy" of the week award.

  • 16 bucks for 3 steaks. I am going to Dumas. If you are going to steal steak at least go for the choice cuts

  • I'll bet her parents are proud. Their daughter shacking up with, and being arrested with a 22-year-old douchebag.

  • Well i guess she found her sexy tattooed badboy lol
and we all know how in demand these loser types are to todays modern women. i'm sure we will see her on cabot street in the near future sporting 6 kids from 5 different deadbeat fathers.

  • They were made for each other...... both dumb...

  • LOL...
at least he got caught doing something stupid.
    the 16year old kid though?
That is just plain, bottom of the food chain, dumb!
