The body of a boater, who went missing Aug. 26 on Mule Lake, has been located by the Sudbury detachment of the OPP.

Robert Gauthier, 73, from Windsor, had been at a family cottage when he went missing while fishing. Family members located the victim’s overturned boat, when he did not return, Friday afternoon.

On Aug. 28, members of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit located the body. Gauthier was not wearing a personal floatation device.

A post mortem examination is scheduled to take place later this week.

Mule Lake is located in Tyrone Township, north of Cartier.

  • I hope his boat insurance policy will pay for the police search and recovery bill.
