Almost 80 charges were laid after Greater Sudbury Police conducted a traffic blitz around McRae Heights and Val Caron.
One driver was caught going 131 km/h in a 60 km/h zone, while another was caught going 119 km/h. Both drivers had their licences suspended for seven days and their vehicles impounded for seven days.
Another driver was charged for allowing the operation of an unsafe motor vehicle. The vehicle had its plates removed and was towed.
In all, 53 people were charged with speeding, six with cell phone related charges, three for driving while suspended, four with equipment violations, 11 with seatbelt charges, and two with stunt driving charges.
