Two wanted men arrested at Richard Street home

Greater Sudbury Police arrested two wanted men at the same Richard Street home within less than 24 hours.

On Aug. 21 at around 6 p.m., officers went to the home to look for one of the wanted men. While they were waiting for an arrest warrant to enter the home, the man tried to escape from a basement window, but was arrested after a short chase.

The 23-year-old man had been wanted on the charges of flight from police and dangerous driving.

On Aug. 22 at around 8:30 a.m., police executed a search warrant at the Richard Street home. A 31-year-old man who was wanted for theft and breach of probation was arrested at the scene.

Police also found a shotgun inside the home which had been stolen from the North Bay area Aug. 13.

As a result, both men are now facing additional charges of possession of property obtained by crime, unsafe storage of a firearm and possession of a weapon obtained by crime.

The men are expected to appear in bail court Aug. 23.

  • This Richard St. house is well known as a drug house and has associates with biker gangs in our area.

  • Hope that those criminals stay in jail for years.
