A Greater Sudbury man faces charges after he allegedly had unprotected sex with two women even though he knew he was HIV positive.

Micheil McLean, 26, has been charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault.

The charges were laid after police began an investigation following complaints from two women who claim McLean did not inform them he had HIV before engaging in intimate relations in separate instances.

McLean was in bail court on Sept. 7, and has been kept in custody.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Greater Sudbury Police's Criminal Investigations Division at 705-675-9171 ext. 3200, or Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers by phone at 705-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.sudburycrimestoppers.com, or by text message to 274637 (CRIMES), starting with the word TIPSUD.

  • Where did that come from?

Anywho, You can be educated all you want. There is a big difference between book smart and street smart. You could teach safe sex till you're blue in the, but if the person lacks common sense (as many people do) no education will ever help them out.

Is it up to our government to teach us "if you stick your finger in a running chop saw it will be cut off?"

  • 50% of stories dealing with bad things published in todays news papers are due to our suposed important people in politics. Governments make decisions that are harmfull to canadians way of life not to mention retarded. I'm sorry but monkeys in a row boat can probably teach kids that having unprotected sex can be deadly. The government has ruind the education system for the next ten years, not to mention thaty they have been removing the parents rights to raise there kids the way they see fit.

  • Sex isn’t wrong but you gotta be right. If you’re hitting the sheets then wrap it up tight. Now listen up kids cause I ain’t joking one bad decision your $hit will be smokin’. You’ll catch a VD but don’t take it form me.

  • opnmnd: I do not see anyone on here Blamming the victims here, The guy is a scumbag, 99 is bang on,an Bcareful, no glove no love,(rite on!) an as for having a couple of drinks and having unsafe sex is by no-way an excuse!...That's why I said It's hard to feel sorry for all the Idoit's involved, sad! but true!

  • HIV is no longer considered a death sentence by the medical field. It is however, a chronic disease, that needs to be treated for life with sustainable drug plans.
Regardless, safe sex is the responsibility of everyone involved.
The person who has a disease, has a moral ethic to divulge their condition, whether it be HIV, Hep-C, or VD etc...
I doubt this guy has any morals. That's why the law has to step in. Sorry for the two girls, and possibly many others.

  • a typical drone response is to blame the victim!
think for a minute and open your mind!, your neice/daughter/sister went out friday night and got a little drunk and ended up having unprotected sex with someone! it very well could happen and does!, she was wrong but does she deserve to die?..but now Mitcheil on the other hand went out friday night..knowing full well that he has the HIV disease!! and has unprotected sex without informing them of his condition!! thats an intent to spread the disease!! any way you try to put it its the same conclusion, he knew he had it, concealed it and had unprotected sex without notification= tried to infect someone, that is not sexual assault any way ya try to put it unless the act forced! then thats a whole different ball game with a rape charge added..its a attempted murder or murder act any way you put it, and if ya cant see that?..your heads in a hole! stop blaming the vicims, this isnt the dark ages anymore and people can think for themselves lmao

  • While this truely is wrong for him to do, it is up to each and everyone of us to protect ourselves! Bottom line is it is our own responsability. No glove ...No love !

  • Un protected sex is one thing.

Knowingly spreading around a deadly disease is something completly different.,,SCUMBAG

  • your an idoit for having unprotected sex!...It's everyone else's fault for not being responsable themselves?...geez It's hard to sorry for all these people!...An to know your sick and don't care about other people is just as sick!

  • aggravated sexual assault?? ok i truly believe our criminal system here is being run by complete retards!..the guy has a life ending disease! and has knowingly infected 2 people with the said disease...pretty straight forward to me idiot law people! IF they have not contracted the disease from him? then its an attempted MURDER charge obviously, IF they have contracted Aids from the guy who KNOWINGLY had Aids and had sex with them without telling them? its a damn MURDER charge!..wtf is wrong with people?
