  • I would personally suggest that bullistics be done on the weapon and the results forwarded to the RCMP.
GEEZ, Now why would I come up with a concern like that?

And,99gt............every time you open your mout you make me sick!
It's you and your kind that are the problem with society!

  • "The most amazing thing is how this "mishap" ever got reported to the media."

It would be very easy for somebody to leak this. Once a police firearm has been stolen/lost/misplaced a bulletin goes to all of the OPP detachments in Ontario about it.

  • actually, Motorboat, the OPP keep their shotguns between the two front seats mounted in an upright poistion.

My best guess is he/she got out to kill an injured animal and some how........??

  • How did it bounce out of the car? Police keep these things in the trunk and they are strapped down. So either they were driving around with it in the front (against the law even for a cop). they were screwing around with it or carelessly left it somewhere, or somebody stole/borrowed it and the cops just dont want to admit it.

Either way the person responsible for caring for the weapon should face the same charges as the rest of the public but we know that wont happen.

  • The most amazing thing is how this "mishap" ever got reported to the media.

  • Sure hope that long GUN was registered????

  • uh oh...somebody is in trouble.

  • wow...like their RCMP kin, they support the gun registry but cannot even account for their own firearms?! unbelievable

  • The latest claim from OPP central is the gun bounced or fell out of the car.

In any case, if it were you or I who owned the gun and the OPP found it on the road, the long gun registry would track it back to us and we'd face, as Linux_Advocat said, a bunch of charges including unsafe storage.

I hope NL follows this story.

  • I was just poking fun. Nobody would take the Tim Horton posts serious.

  • No Tim Hortons in White River..try again Top Gun

  • Again lol ;)

  • The long gun registry has failed again! LOL! Now, I wonder if there will be charges for unsafe storage? Really...how does one misplace a shotgun to that effect?

  • Ha ha :)

  • He forgot it when he left Tim Hortins.
