Police are reminding outdoors enthusiasts to let someone know where they are going and when they will return after spending time searching for a missing 23-year-old man on Sept. 4.

Around 10 a.m., the missing person went for a seadoo ride on Ramsey Lake. When he had not returned by 11:30 a.m., his family contacted Greater Sudbury Police.

The seadoo abandoned in the water near Moonlight Beach.

The police began a search for the missing person, with uniformed officers and police boats being dispatched to the lake.

Around 12:05 p.m., the missing person phoned his family from a phone near Moonlight Beach to tell them he was unharmed. He was found in good health.

Greater Sudbury Police want to remind people that leaving an agenda with a timetable and geographic locations with someone is very important before leaving for outdoors activities like boating, hunting, hiking, or off-roading. If someone does not arrive on time, the geographic locations allow police a place to begin searches.

  • Was he impaired, by alcohol or drugs? Or mentally challenged or on parole since his parents repoorted an adult missing within two hours. The parents need to show their concern for the community at large if we have to investigagte their concens. and send out workers employed by Sudbury.
