Greater Sudbury Police have arrested a man after finding his 2000 Buick Century running and stopped at the intersection of Beatty and Elm St.

According to a press release the vehicle was stolen, and the “man was observed passed out in the driver's seat with an open bottle of beer in his hand.” He was the only person in the vehicle.

Police said the doors to the vehicle were locked. As a result “police were forced to break the rear passenger window in an attempt to access the car to check on the lone occupant's well-being. As he woke, his foot came off the brake and the vehicle rolled forward into a parked police car.”

A second window was eventually broken by police as the driver refused to exit the vehicle or place it in park.

The driver was found to be a suspended driver and impaired by alcohol. The suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property, driving while under suspension, impaired driving and dangerous driving.

The driver was also arrested on an outstanding warrant as “once arrested it was learned that the driver was wanted by Greater Sudbury Police for a break-in to Boston Pizza in Nov. 2010.”

  • well it points out how flawed the justice system is. there is only one silver bullet here. show me the money. but no one wants to pay higher taxes. this guy is a long term criminal if he doesnt turn his life around.
drugs and addictions are causing a never ending crime wave. which is only going to get worse in this drug crazed society. if the police dont get on top of this drug problem,we could end up like mexico is now in a decade.
