A 21-year-old man blew three times over the legal limit once Greater Sudbury Police Services stopped him for driving a stolen truck around 11:15 a.m. on March 19.

The man was operating a 1992 Chevrolet pickup truck with a plow, which was taken from a Montague Street address. When police stopped the driver, he had been driving “dangerously” on Lorne Street, and hit a fence post before turning onto Morrison Street.

Further investigation revealed that the man only a G1 licence. He is legally required to have an accompanying driver with him while operating vehicles, and have a zero blood alcohol concentration level.

The man has lost his licence for 90 days, and is being held for a bail hearing. He has also been charged with theft over $5,000, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, blowing over the legal limit, dangerous driving, resisting arrest, breach of probation and failure to remain, as well as highway traffic act offences for consuming alcohol and driving without a fully licenced driver.
