Greater Sudbury Police have charged a man with impaired driving after they found the suspect produced breath results of almost three times the legal limit.

According to a press release, officers observed a motor vehicle exit the Solid Gold on Falconbridge Road shortly after 2 a.m. on May 15. The vehicle was “observed to be drifting within its lane.”

Police conducted a traffic stop and “detected a strong odour of alcohol on the driver's breath.” The accused was arrested for impaired driving and taken to police headquarters for further breath results.

The driver was charged with over .80 blood alcohol and impaired driving and the vehicle was impounded for a week.
