A 26-year-old man who allegedly drove his truck on Falconbridge Road after drinking has been charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample.

Officers were sent to the area after learning about a possible impaired driver on Falconbridge. They found the suspect in his truck in the parking lot of St. Charles College at around 1:36 a.m. July 22.

The suspect had a strong odour of alcohol on his breath and was unsteady on his feet, a press release from Greater Sudbury Police stated.

He failed a roadside alcohol screening test. The suspect refused to take an intoxilyzer test at Greater Sudbury Police headquarters.

The suspect was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

His driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Greater Sudbury Police now release the names of impaired drivers. These press releases can be found by going to www.gsps.ca.

  • St. Charles........on Falconbridge?
Strange place to be don't you think unless it was really the parking lot next door or did he miss his intended destination or was he leaving the Peeler's Palace but we can't say that in the media?
