A woman in her 50s was trapped under her mobility scooter at the intersection of Paris Street and Long Lake Road July 17 after three men grabbed her scooter and tipped it over sometime between 3 and 5 p.m. that day.

The woman, who requires a pacemaker and has poor general health, fell into a drainage ditch, and the 500 pound scooter fell on top of her.

Due to her physical limitations, the woman was “helplessly confined under her scooter” until she was freed by two citizens, a press release from police stated.

They lifted the scooter back onto the sidewalk, and helped the woman back onto her scooter.

The victim did not seek medical attention.

Greater Sudbury Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the suspects responsible for the incident.

The only description provided by the victim is that the suspects were wearing grey hoodies and jeans.

The press release said police would also like to identify and thank the citizens who helped the victim.

The two are described as a white man in his fifties and a white woman in her 40s.
