A 41-year-old Greater Sudbury man added a list of charges to his record after leaving the scene of an accident, which he causes while driving impaired.

On July 27 at 8:35 p.m., the man, who was driving a pickup truck, hit a parked vehicle in a parking lot on Lasalle Boulevard. He then left the area on foot, despite bystanders calling him back to the scene.

Police located the man in the area, who according to a press release, had “an unsteady gait, slurred speech, a strong odour of alcohol coming from his breath, and bloodshot watery eyes.” He was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle and transported to police headquarters, where he provided breath samples which indicated he had about three times over the legal limit of alcohol.

He has been charged with impaired driving, blowing over the legal limit and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Because he was awaiting trial on impaired charges stemming from an incident in another jurisdiction from January of this year, he was held for a bail hearing.

A 50-year-old Greater Sudbury man is also facing impaired driving charges from an incident July 31 around 10:38 a.m. He was stopped for a minor traffic violation on Municipal Road 24 in Lively. The investigating officer noted an odour of alcohol on the man’s breath, and issued a roadside test, which the man failed.

He was transported to police headquarters where he provided breath samples indicating he was over the legal limit. He was released on a promise to appear and will attend court in the near future to answer to the charge of blowing over the legal limit.

Greater Sudbury Police now release the names of impaired drivers. These press releases can be found by going to www.gsps.ca.

  • Oh please, like they don't get a free pass Eyes Wide Open_1.
If you want a real eye opener just look up

"Michael Bryant Road Safety Test "

on youtube and you can see the former Attorney General of Ontario hit a cyclist who parks in front of him. Bryant then leaves abd drags the guy killing him. No jail time for Bryant and it's caught on camera so I don't need hints on how these people get away with murder Eyes Wide Open.

  • But corruption killer, but think of all the cops, lawyers, judge's and children aid workers that would be in jail sudbury would not have enough space

  • There has to be a change of law concerning
drunk drivers. The penalty is a joke.

If someone was waving a firearm inside a shopping mall
that person would be locked away for mental issues and endangerment of the public. But a drunk driver randomly driving city street not knowing what they will hit is treated with less punishment.

Something is wrong. What are they waiting for someone
else to get hurt so they say well next time will do better.

  • should lock this loser up and throw away the key
