A 29-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences, including impaired driving, after Greater Sudbury Police caught him speeding on Errington Street in Chelmsford.

Officers who stopped the suspect's vehicle noticed the man had alcohol on his breath, glassy eyes and slurred speech.

After failing a roadside alcohol screening test, the man was charged with impaired driving, blowing over 80, operating a vehicle without insurance and using validation not furnished for a vehicle.

As well as facing criminal charges, the man's driver's licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Greater Sudbury Police now release the names of impaired drivers. These press releases can be found by going to www.gsps.ca.

  • They may release them but try finding them on the website. Seems they are just protecting them like our courts do. Odd how not all DUI's are named. Seems somehow to be selective.

  • That just means next time they will have to add driving with out a licensed to the list of charges. Jail time should be mandatory for Impaired.
