Plane crashes on Joe Lake

Two adult men are being treated for minor injuries after the plane they were in went down on Joe Lake.

A local resident helped the two men to dry land with a boat following the crash.

 

Transport Canada and the Ministry of the Environment have been contacted and will be involved in the investigation.

A small plane has crashed on Joe Lake north of Hanmer this morning (Sept. 1).

The two occupants of the plane are out of the water and at a camp in the area, according to Greater Sudbury Police spokesperson Const. Bert Lapalme.

Lapalme said he doesn't know what injuries the victims have, if any.

Police, fire and ambulance personnel were on their way to the scene.
