Man steals car, then ditches it, OPP allege

A local man stole a car and ditched it on Highway 69, the Ontario Provincial Police allege in a press release.

Members of the Sudbury OPP were called to the scene on Highway 69 in the early morning hours of Jan. 28. Further investigation into the matter revealed that the car had been reported stolen from Sudbury.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property and will appear in Sudbury court on March 21.

A 22-year-old Kingston man will answer to charges of mischief under $5,000.

Sudbury OPP officers responded to a complaint on Jan. 26 at a business on Highway 144 north of Sudbury. Officers attended the restaurant at about 9:30 p.m., where an investigation revealed that a man entered the business, where he became agitated and broke a window.

He was arrested and will appear in court on March 7 in Sudbury.
