Tyler Lessard and Latisha St. George were located this morning at 9 a.m. on an ATV trail in the vicinity of Cow Lake, also known locally as Mud Lake.

The pair had left their ATV and got turned around in the bush area. After spending the night in the bush, they were wet and cold, but otherwise suffered no ill effects.

Greater Sudbury Police utilized the services of a number of officers including officers with search and rescue training on ATVs, the OPP helicopter, family and friends of the two missing persons, and had requested the services of North Shore Search and Rescue.

Police reminde ATVers that it is important on any outing in wilderness areas to ensure that someone knows where your intended destination is going to be and how long you expect to be, even on short outings.

Also, be cognizant of the weather conditions when venturing out and have proper outdoor clothing and essential emergency equipment with you. A cellphone in serviced areas or a satellite phone is an invaluable part of that equipment.
