Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A 22-year-old Hanmer man faces drug-related charges stemming form a routine traffic stop on April 26 on Highway 144 in Noble Township, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

He was one of two men charged in the incident. The Gogama OPP had occasion to stop a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck for an alleged traffic violation.

Officers located a quantity of cocaine and marijuana inside the vehicle.

The Hanmer man, and a 20-year-old Gogama man, have each been charged with possession of a controlled substance. They will attend provincial court on July 17 to answer to the charges.
