Police are investigating the collision between a car and the motorcycle that occurred on Radar Road in the area of Dupuis Drive in Hanmer May 17 at about 2 p.m. At that time, a small four-door car was being operated by a man who appeared to be in his early 20s.
He was travelling westbound on Radar Road and attempted to pass two transports that were driving in front of him. Police said he apparently ran out of space and time and he swerved off the roadway as the motorcycle approached him in the eastbound lane.
The suspect vehicle struck the motorcycle driver on the right side of the lower portion of his leg. The motorcyclist was able to regain control of his motorcycle and came to a safe stop, according to police. He was then assisted by area residents. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, the suspect vehicle failed to remain at the scene and sped off continuing westbound down Radar Road. The vehicle sustained damage to the right front passenger side.
Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking anyone with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
