Police still haven’t released the name of a 14-year-old girl who was killed in an ATV accident Sunday in Capreol. The teen was killed when the vehicle she was riding with another teen veered off the road.

Greater Sudbury Police were called to the accident scene around 1 p.m. on Sunday, on a trail about 22 kilometres up Moose Mountain Mine Road in Capreol. Two 14-year-old girls were on the ATV when the vehicle left the roadway, causing both to be thrown from the vehicle.

One of the teens died at the scene while the other girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Both were females were wearing helmets at the time of the collision.

The investigation was conducted by officers from the Traffic Management Unit.

Police say more information should be available Tuesday morning.
