Greater Sudbury Fire Services has concluded its part of investigation into the fire at Roofmart, but Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Ontario Fire Marshal's office continue to try and determine a cause, according to police.

The Roofmart property has been released to the owners and is open for business today.

GSPS medial relations officer Const. Meghan O'Malley said information has come in from the public, and that police are following up with that information. However, anyone with any insight, whether they saw anything out of the ordinary or even heard something, is asked to call police at 705-675-9171.

An early morning fire on July 19 caused more than $1 million worth of damage to the roofing and siding supply business located at 1999 Lasalle Boulevard. It took 22 firefighters from four different fire halls to put out the fire, which was called in shortly after 2:30 a.m. that day.

Interestingly, another small garbage bin fire was started a short distance away, at Osaka Sushi, which prompted police to deem the fire suspicious. Fire officials said they aren't ruling out arson yet, but wouldn't go so far as to call it suspicious until the OFM completes its investigation.
