Driver hits retaining wall at Southridge Mall

Man charged with impaired

A 21-year-old man faces impaired charges after hitting a retaining wall at the base of the Southridge Mall parking lot around 1 a.m., according to Greater Sudbury Police Service.

He was driving a silver Ford Focus and heading south on Regent Street when the vehicle left the road and hit the retaining wall. The vehicle suffered extensive damage, and the drivers was taken to Health Sciences North with minor injuries.

In addition to his impaired driving charge, the man also faces charges of dangerous driving and refusing to provide a breath sample.
