A 20-year-old Walden man has been arrested for robbery, mischief and possession of stolen property in connection to a June 26 event where a teen was arrested for alleged impaired driving of an ATV, according to Greater Sudbury Police Service.

On June 26, officers responded to several complaints of an ATV being operated in an erratic fashion in the area of Field Street in Lively. The youth operating the ATV was not wearing a helmet.

Police allege the 20-year-old suspect stole the ATV on June 26.

Officers from the rural unit found the ATV on Field Street; however, the operator refused to stop, and officers had to jump out of the way to avoid being struck by the ATV.

The 16-year-old driver abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot. He was found a short distance away and arrested.

The teen failed a breathalyzer and was taken to police headquarters, where further breath tests revealed he was 1.5 times the legal limit.

He was charged with dangerous driving and impaired operation.
