Greater Sudbury Fire Services put out a fire in a car parked on Windermere Crescent around 1 a.m. on Aug. 4. According to police, an incendiary device was thrown through the slightly open window of a parked, unoccupied car.

The inside of the vehicle received “extensive” burn and water damage. Neighbours who observed the fire called for help; They reported several youth in the area running off at the time of the fire.

Anyone who has information about the youth involved are asked to contact police.

Police would like to remind vehicle owners that windows should be completely rolled up to prevent incidences like this. Windows even slightly open can be attractive to mischievous youth.
