Greater Sudbury Police were conducting RIDE checks Aug. 4 at Paris Street at John Street, Regent Street at Ramseyview Court and on the Falconbridge Highway at Auger Street, stopping a total of 683 vehicles.
One 90-day license suspension was handed out, and two three-day suspensions were issued. Seven charges were handed out with highway traffic act offences, and one person was charged with blowing over .80.
The ongoing RIDE program is aimed at reducing property damage, injuries and death caused by impaired driving.
