A 30-year-old Sudbury man is facing charges after a collision on Highway 69 on Aug. 4.

Members of the Sudbury detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police attended a two-vehicle collision on Highway 69 near the Estaire Road underpass at about 1:15 am. A pickup truck involved in the collision had left the scene, police said in a press release.

The vehicle was located a short time later with the assistance of the public, and the male driver was found to have been drinking. He was arrested for impaired driving, and police seized a quantity of liquor from the vehicle.

The driver has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of a collision and impaired driving. A court date has been set for Aug. 22, 2012 in Sudbury.
