Roger Grenier, 65, of Sudbury was killed Aug. 16 when he was involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 17 west of Verner, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

Officers responded to the collision at 9 p.m. Grenier, operating a motorcycle and heading west, collided with an east-bound vehicle driven by a 49-year-old Verner woman. Grenier was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was taken to West Nipissing hospital where she was treated and released.

The crash closed Highway 17 to both east- and west-bound traffic for about 6.5 hours while ambulance, police and members of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators Unit attended the scene.

The OPP continues its investigation and wants to remind drivers to slow down and drive with care during wet conditions.
