A 22-year-old man faces a number of assault charges stemming from an Aug. 17 incident where a man and woman were victims of a severe beating, Greater Sudbury Police service said.
The suspect was arrested Aug. 19. He is charged with assault, domestic assault, two counts of aggravated assault and three counts of breach of probation. A 22-year-old woman was also arrested and is in custody. She is charged with obstructing police and breach of probation.
On Aug. 17 at about 10 p.m., police attended an incident in the area of Suffolk Lane. Both victims were taken to Health Sciences North where they were admitted with serious injuries.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in bail court today.
