A 29-year-old man faces aggravated assault charges after allegedly attacking two other people with a beer bottle and sending them to hospital with serious injuries, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

Police were called to Kathleen Street Aug. 26 shortly before 10 p.m. to investigate a disturbance. Officers learned a fight had broken out between the suspect and a 19-year-old man accompanied by two women.

The suspect hit the younger man and one of the women with a beer bottle. The male victim required surgery at Health Sciences North for injuries to his face and neck.

The suspect faces two counts of aggravated assault.
