Alleged drunk driver takes a nap on Hwy. 144

A 71-year-old Chelmsford man was arrested for alleged drunk driving after police received a complaint at about 12:30 a.m. on Aug. 26 of an erratic driver on Highway 144, said the Ontario Provincial Police.

OPP officers patrolled the area and found a vehicle stopped facing northbound in the southbound lane on Highway 144 north of Chelmsford. The driver was asleep behind the wheel. Officers woke up the man to find that he had been drinking.

A quantity of liquor was also found in the vehicle.
