Police hunting for suspected car thief

Officers searching areas near Christakos Street

Greater Sudbury Police officers and members of the canine unit are right now on the hunt for a suspected car thief.

Officers are on scene in the areas of Christakos, Van Horne and St. Raphael Streets in search of a 22-year-old suspect.

Officers are attempting to keep the man, who is suspected of stealing a vehicle from a residence on Christakos, contained in the area.

Police report that the 22-year-old has also committed other criminal offences, and the canine unit was called out to assist in searching for him.

No description of the man was provided.

Greater Sudbury Police did say the suspect is known to police.

The suspect is being urged to turn himself in to police.
