A suspected car thief wanted since Sept. 7 has been arrested, Greater Sudbury Police said Sept. 8.
Police have reported that the 22-year-old has also committed other criminal offences, and the canine unit was called out to assist in searching for him. He was arrested for taking a motor vehicle belonging to his employer without consent, theft, possession of stolen property and breaching two court orders. He will be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
On Sept. 7, police were on scene in the areas of Christakos, Van Horne and St. Raphael streets in search of a the suspect. Officers tried to keep the man, who is suspected of stealing a vehicle from a residence on Christakos, contained in the area.
He was arrested at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 8.
