UPDATE Sept. 15 at 3:25 p.m.

Greater Sudbury Police, who are assisting the Ontario Provincial Police with traffic control, say traffic is being re-routed at Second Avenue at Hwy. 17 in Coniston to Bancroft Drive. Traffic approaching this intersection from the city towards Coniston is being re-routed up Moonlight Drive to Bancroft Drive.

Original story:

Highway 17 is closed between the Sudbury south east bypass and Coniston because of a motor vehicle collision.

OPP Sgt. Keith Manley told Northern Life the accident involved a tractor-trailer, car and motorcycle, but didn't have any other details.

Bancroft Drive is available as a detour to light traffic only.

The OPP did not provide an estimated time for how long the road would be closed.
